Goodbyeee

Time to conclude

Well, much to our regret, it is time to say goodbye–or « goodbyeee » after the fashion of the title of the very last Blackadder episode.

British humour has been a great theme to study. Indeed we can say that we enjoyed ourselves in finding various works and artists that could arouse the readers' interest and curiosity. But mostly the ideas came by themselves as the humorists we have presented are the ones we already knew about and the ones we liked better. This subject was pleasant and rewarding. We learned more details about the artists, the films, the sketches, but more than all about British humour itself!

During our study of British humour we have found different kinds of typical features and some can also be found in French humour. Thus the funny faces or grimaces, for instance Mr Bean's, are not so far from the ones of de Funès. There are many examples of similarities and we can therefore wonder what the universal features of humour are or its divergences depending on the cultural groups.

Let’s give an end to our blog the way Monty Python finishes its sketches:

"I don't think there's a punchline scheduled, is there?"
